The Holiday Essay Contest invites participants to explore the profound impact of altruism and community service through the prompt "The Power of Giving Back." This contest aims to inspire individuals to reflect on their personal experiences with giving, the significance of generosity in society, and how acts of kindness can foster a sense of unity and hope during the holiday season. Your story can be any type of writing piece that best demonstrates the prompt: poem, research, personal story, etc.. Below is all the info you need to write and submit a piece that's sure to win!

Submissions are due by December 30th, 2025 at 11:59 CST

Global recognition as you compete against people from all around the world
Published on our news journal where your writing can reach a large audience
Posted on our instagram (with consent) displaying your writing to 1,000+ people

Formatting Requirements:

500 - 1,000 words for all traditional writings (excluding poetry, etc.)
Needs to be in MLA format
NO AI will be permitted and will lead to disqualification
All writing styles and types are allowed: creative writing, research, a (fictional or nonfiction) story, poetry, etc.)
